We were delighted to receive funding from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation to support our Future Debates series on Robotics and Autonomous Systems.

In March 2016, Lloyd’s Register Foundation invited input into a consultation on Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) to help guide their future funding in this subject area. RAS has been identified by the foundation as a key technology that impacts on its core objectives.

The British Science Association wants to empower many more people – not just scientists – to constructively engage in debates over science’s role in their lives, their local economy, and the UK’s future.

We organised, in partnership with our branches and other organisations, a series of Future Debates across the UK, to enable local people to discuss Robotics and Autonomous Systems and how they feel it will affect them and their communities.
