Overall purpose of the job

The British Science Association (BSA) is a charity that aims to make science a fundamental part of culture and society. We want to support, grow and diversify the community of people interested in and engaged in science; and to strengthen their influence over science’s role in their lives.

The BSA organises major initiatives across the UK, including British Science Week; the annual British Science Festival; regional and local events through our network of volunteer-led Branches; the CREST Awards, and other programmes for young people in schools and colleges. We also run specific activities and training for professional science communicators.

We are looking for a Digital Communications Manager to join our centralised communications team to oversee the delivery of all digital communications for the BSA’s programmes and core brand. This is a new role in the team to allow for an expanded programme of digital communications and marketing across the organisation.

This role will lead on delivery of our digital communications strategy for all major BSA programmes. They will be responsible for monitoring the success of our digital platforms and driving innovation in our communications campaigns. They will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to identify key audience segments to target with digital campaigns and be responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting on them.
